Dr. Deacon Dunn Cumby

Dunn H. Cumby studied theology at Kansas Newman College, Wichita, and dentistry at the University of Oklahoma.  Since 1976, he’s been a practicing dentist and a part-time member of the OU dental faculty. Cumby also became the first African American ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and then the first permanent deacon to serve as President of NBCCC.  His community activities include: Black Liberated Arts Council, Chairman; City County Health Department Board, Founding Director; Capitol Chamber of Commerce, and Catholic Charities of Oklahoma City. Dr. Cumby and his wife, Magnolia, are the parents of five children.
